Primary health care is the essential element of practical health care to making health care universally accessible to individuals and facilities in the community in an acceptable and affordable way and with their full participation. It forms an integral part of both of the country’s health system, of which it is the central function and main focus, and of the overall social and economic development of the community. It is the first level of contact of individuals, the family and community with the national health system brining in health care as close as possible to where people live and work and constitutes the first element of a continuing health care process.
It upholds equity, community self-reliance, and decentralization of health services and integration of social and economic development. It at the same time addresses the 4 As health care and prevention needs to address: acceptable, affordable, accessible and appropriate.

RockHealth Integrated Care and Consultancies (RICC) CBO seeks to build healthy communities through disciplinary integration, health ambassadorship, community, institutional, corporate health education and screening camps.
RICC’s health education has focused on:
- Educating the community on preventive health care against prevalent conditions and how to control their spread, basic first aid and healthy living.
- Building capacity in medical students who are the future health workers in understanding the concept of PHC and how to dispense health education in communities.
- Providing school health education to high schools and primary schools.
